By night, (and all other seconds of the day) she is focused on launching Land of Ed, a socially conscious company designing beautiful, functional baby bags that support children's educational initiatives around the world.
Designers design for people. Food is at the heart of what people need, and it is something that binds us all. It is energy in the broadest sense. Major problems such as far-reaching industrialisation, animal welfare, bee mortality and obesity have given the subject of food an increased urgency.
Interest in food is growing fast both within the academy and outside it. There is a need for creative minds that can address the various issues within the subject of food. There is great scope for innovation, for clarification, for exposing and questioning traditions and for a more poetic or artistic approach to food.
Artist, illustrator and free spirit Libanese-born Karen Klink lives and works in Barcelona. "Successfully born in Beirut, I developed an early interest in collecting happy meal toys, enjoying great lebanese food, and inventing bedtime horror stories to scare myself and my little cousins at night. To give shape to these fascinations, I decided one day to become an illustrator."
Edoardo is currently working in Renaa Restaurant and will on this occasion create a menu based on the season´s root vegetables. A fusion meal of local ingredients and Italian cultural background/ memories. He teams up with a local artist who will host and present a concept during the event.
